_p 418_: Mantle

* Plan-Forbes: 2.5 billion

* World Watch: 6.0 billion

* Rocks-Runyon: 10 billion

The Rocks-Runyon model has proven to be the most accurate one, in the simple sense that it correctly predicted that we could (with difficulty) feed 10 billion by the year 2040.

Status: Likely

Earth's depiction of a population stabilising at ten billion by the mid 21st century appears to be spot on, according to the latest estimates!

Reality

...Of course, that's still a lot of people!
